I got caught shoplifting at Walgreen's what do i do?

I took a candy bar, honestly I was being stupid, I just didnt feel like paying for it. The guy stopped me outside the store and said he worked for loss prevention, the weird thing was he was dressed casual nothing about him said "security gaurd," I was super nice about everything and told him all my info and let him photocopy my ID he said because it was a cheap item it would not go on my criminal record and i might get fined anywhere from 50 to 500 dollars (but maybe not he said) later I called the store and asked if I was getting fined or not and they said there wasn't a security guard I must have the wrong store I checked twice i had the right store.....what do you think will happen?
