Metformin to counteract constipation?

I used to take metformin, not diabetic but bad family history and cholesterol an all that. Recently stopped to see how I did without, definitely not missing the initial setting my large intestine to "puree". Been considering a low carb diet and heard it constipates, should I start taking metformin again to counteract this?

I started eating healthier and exercising more and has helped, also caffeine can irritate skin, so lower your intake. Last month was my first full month off of birth control. This past month has been amazingly stressful; so stressful it may in fact have caused an inflammation in my small intestine. I went for a colonoscopy this past week, and im only 20! My period is about 4 days late now. Puppy has dead worms in feces?

We've had our puppy for about 3 weeks (he's about14 weeks old now), and he's been a bit of a troublemaker :) First he picked up coccidia and an internal bacteria, and now I worry we have some more problems. He's had 2 fecal tests (the last one about a week and a half ago) and has never been positive for roundworm eggs but we just gave him a dewormer and noticed him pooping out dead ones (at least in all my research that's what they appear to be)! He was also dewormed twice by the breeder, the last time about a week before we picked him up, and started taking heartguard plus the first week we had him (June 13). Is it possible that these could just be lingering adults that died in his intestines during his deworming (he was sick immediately upon picking him up, so maybe he was unable to pass them) and are just now passing through, or is it possible that he passed to fecal floats while still carrying the roundworm parasite (which I believe is pretty unlikely). I'm driving my wife crazy with all my worrying and I'm taking a sample in to the vet tomorrow to be sure, but if anyone has any experiences that could bring piece of mind so I can sleep tonight, that would be awesome! ok so im 36 weeks and 3 days pregnant with a boy and this is my first pregnancy. the top half of my stomach is swollen and it is very noticeable, its tender to the touch i know he is lower down there and not in the swollen area. i was in a wreck a year ago st Patrick's day and im pretty sure some intestine damage occurred because ever since the wreck my bowls have been very ab normal. i have been to the doctor just for that like 15 times and all they tell me is miralax plenty of water and no laxatives. but i have gone up to two weeks with out a bowl movement from time to time. now i have been with out a bowl movement for about three days and this swelling is happening can some one help me please?

To be sure, take the medication back to Walgreens and ask over the counter if the wrong medication was prescribed. My guess is that it's fine, not at fault for the premature delivery of your twins and very unlikely to cause long term ill effects.

4 days late with my period. one faint positive hpt, two negative. having lots of symptoms. ?

I took one hpt two days ago and it was a faint positive. the next morning i took another hpt (same brand: Walgreen's Early Result Preg. Test) and it was negative. then went to doctor's office today and they did a urine test that was also negative. I definitely had unprotected sex multiple times during 5-6 fertile days this past April. I am now 4 days late on my period. I have 7 minnows and their water gets really dirty really quick well it got better when I took them out of a 1cup size bowl to a 1gallon size bowl anyways I have to change the water so often that its costing me to much in water the cheapest water I can buy is 89cents a gallon. And I change it every other day recently Walgreen's had a 39cents per gallon sale but I only had 2 gallons left(figures) I have tried the only changing half the water thing ,but the water still looks dirty....so I was wondering if I could use tap water with NovAqua (which im using in the bottled water) into it it takes chlorine and al kinds of stuff out and makes their skin healthier and prevents some kin of slim getting on the scales. Also I have been boiling my gravel when I change the bowls water I also put the bowl in the tub and run scaling hot water on the then wipe them out the a Towel....I never use any chemicals because im scared it will hurt the fish. Oh I have a huge 30gallon bucket in my back yard...if can use tap water can I fill it up with water put however many drops I need to put in and let the minnows live out side (i caught them in the canal down the street). I'm going on 3 weeks with very little BMs. When I go, they are like small rocks or seems too thick. (sorry for gross visual). I've tried enemas, stool softeners, more liquids, and more fiber. I'm on prednisone and as one of the side effects I'm always hungry....?

I was just discharged from the hospital and i've been diagnosed with moderate crohns (nearly severe, but it wasnt bad enough to be called severe, but im close). Now I'm on 40 mgs of prednisone a day and it drives me crazy, I always want to eat! But I lost so much weight from being not being allowed to eat or drink (i had to do a lot of tests that involved having clear intestines) in the hospital and I don't want to gain it all back. I realize that I'll gain a little bit but I'd like to stay as thin as possible. So what do I do when I've already eaten a good enough sized meal and I still feel like eating? I would not recommend "adult diets" South Beach Diet, diet pills or anything like that... they are not meant for children that young. Drink more 100% juices grape, grapefruit(not so tasty but it eats fat...), and apple, the sweeter they taste he may like them and not realize how great it is for him, and water is always great. Not that I would encourage you to discourage your child, but maybe sit with him and talk to him about it, and not letting him poke the fun at himself about it. Make the activities fun and exciting too. If he really likes video games, try the dance games for WII and X-Box, they are very active, fun and hey he may not even realize the great work out he is doing because he thinks its just a video game. Is this normal for IBS and how can I fix the problem?

I'm 26 and have had IBS with constipation ever since the birth of my last child 1 1/2 yrs ago. My symptoms tend to be worse during my period, and my period just ended yesterday. I've been EXTREMELY gassy for the past 3 days, but have not been able to have a bowel movement. Well, today, I had a bowel movement early this morning. It was normal in appearance, but I got zero relief after it. Later on, I tried to go to the bathroom again, and it was able to get out a little bit of softer bm. Tonight, I tried again (since I still don't feel any relief), and I got out a couple of normal pieces of bm. My issue is that the more that I get out, the worse I feel. It almost feels as though my intestines are bruised. If I lay down, my stomach is nowhere near as sore, but the minute I stand up and attempt to do anything, the soreness returns. Is this normal for IBS with contipation and if so, what can I do to relieve my symptoms?

I'm 18 and I've had stomach problems since I was about 11, but NEVER this severe. I had a upper and lower gi when I was 11 to see if I had ulcers, and nothing. They thought I was just allergic to dairy. But now, literally everything I eat makes me sick. Everything makes me poop immediately after I eat, and I get the WORST upper abdominal cramps & bloating. It hurt so bad last week for two days I was curled up in a ball & it was like I had no control over my stomach muscles...my stomach had caved in & i looked like a skeleton. It usually goes away after a few hours or when I go to sleep but I woke up feeling the same. I went to the dr two weeks ago & was tested for hp lori, an infection that attacks the intestines. It was negative but he put me on antiobiotcs just in case, I go back tomorrow and the meds didnt help at all! Ive heard anything from IBS, to something wrong with my gall bladder, to celiacs disease. Dog throwing up for 9 days and not eating?

5 yrs old american bull dog,9 days ago started eating her food very slow, she did this for about 4 days then stop eating and has only had about half a cup of plain can dog food, xrays on her stomach and intestines are clear of blockage, blood work came back normal, she will drink water but i can only give her about 1/2 cup at a time, the smell of any food makes her want to throw up now, she is loosing weight, vet has given her pills for her stomach and pepsid, if she throws up now just liquid , no blood shown and is urinating. My cat's intestines are hanging out his stomach, help!?

I found my cat in the corner of my bedroom sleeping, I went to pet him and noticed it smelled like feces and something was on his stomach. At first, I thought he had poo stuck to his fur, but it was too big and pale for then, then it struck me : those were his intestines. He then started growling whenever I touched him, so I'm guessing he's in some major pain. I think he got run over by a car, and if this is the case, he may as well have broken bones (ribs, pelvis, etc.). He's on his way to the vet right now, I haven't really seen him in 2 days so it's possible that he's been like this for that long. Go for a jog with him around the neighbourhood. Start of with a 1km jog and progressively increase it by a km every week. He'll lose weight really quickly that way. And one easy way is drink green tea. He's 10 so he should drink around a cup or two a day....that speeds up a person's metabolism and its very healthy. Another important factor is to start eating healthy. Don't feed him any mcdonalds or any junk food..always choose the healthier option. He should also eat 5-6 small meals a day and not 3 large meals. Get him to stop playing video games or limit the time with that or the TV and encourage him to set goals.

I bought this lip gloss at Walgreen i guess around 2009. It wa just a long clear round tube that said plump volume on the side I believe and it had little measure tics on the side as well, It wasn't on a make up rake or anything it was just next to the counter with a bunch of other ones as a little display like they do sometimes with nail polishes. My dog suddenly has bad gas?

She has had bad gas for a week and I have fed her the same food for 2 years so I know that the food is not the problem. She seems to want to lay down all day and sleep like she doesnt feel good. Backed in to a car that was parked in a no parking area.?

Well, I didn't drive to work today so when my dad picked me up he wanted to stop off at Walgreen's on the way home. When he has backing up to leave he backed into a parked car. The thing is it was a fire lane no parking area. My dad has talked to his insurance company about it and they said he was at fault because it is a "moving violation". Now, is there anything else we can do? Well she gave me fluconase? 1oo mg 1 x a day for 5 days and 300 ml of nystatin oral suspension 3x a day 2 teaspoons. I still have while crap on my tounge and taste yeast when i burp. The nystatin is almost gone and I have been off of the fluconase a few days now. How will i know when it is gone and how do i get the crap off my tounge? I bought 12 toothbrushes in the morning i bush and scrub and use the nystatin 6 hrs later i just use the nystatin then i brush and scrub in the evening and use it and throw the brush away. I dunno what else to do, my main question is how will i know when it is gone and isnt in my intestines or throat and how do i get the crap outta my mouth. I have been on a diabetic diet i havent had much bread or sugar.

I used it and cleared up the bumps, but after I washed my face with it my face was tight. I thought nothing of it because I thought that was how it was suppose to work. So later on, I missed a couple of days washing my face. The bumps reappeared, so I vigorously scrub my face with the acne wash, thus making my skin really really dry. Since then it's been the same. I've tried using Neutrogena soap cleaner, ZnP soap cleanser, Dr. Murad's acne complex and none of them have worked. Every time I wash my face with a cleanser my face gets really dry instantly. I follow up with a moisturizer, but when I apply it my face gets greasy, shiny, and oily. Now I have fine lines, some acne scars, and large pores. I don't have acne, but my skin looks horrible. I don't even have to wash my face and it's dry. Please help me!! I want my old face back. :*( I'm African-American if that helps.

My doctor faxed my perscription to walgreens?

She said my medication is through Walgreen's and that it will be shipped directly to me but that I should get it as soon a possible since it is absolutely vital to have at a certain time. Well so she gave me one actual prescription for one drug I need and then gave me the printout of the other drug that showed she faxed it to Walgreen's. Question For Any Female Tennis Player?

I am a single father to a girl who just turned 14. There is no "woman of the house" to help me with this situation. My daughter has issues playing when it's her "time of the month". Unfortunately, there isn't a magic date she can circle on the calendar to prepare, they just happen. This past weekend she played in a USTA tournament and made it to the final. Before her match is when it started to come on and I had to drive to a Walgreen's to get her pads. She was out there in the match holding her abdomen at times from cramping and really sluggish. She says it's harder to move around quick on the courts during the days she has them. I told her before the match she could default and not play but she wanted to anyways and lost 6-0,6-0. Which is unimportant the result it was also 90 plus degree day, so not ideal conditions. Will this get better in time or is there something I can do or she can do to help ease her pain during a match. She refuses not to sit out a few days and with her first high school season coming up. My daughter ended up loosing her whole colon, and having a colostomy bag for a six month period. She had diarrhea for 17 times a day for two years. Stay away from fast food and pasta bread and grease of any kind and keep going to the doctor to figure out what is wrong. Also make sure you are telling your doctors all of your symptoms there may be something you think is insignificant that is actually very important. so i have like a crazy women taken about 10 tests 4 being blue dye ones all 4 were positive but red dye tests all are negative??? very confused and drained with trying to figure this pregnancy thing out. I first took a walgreen brand blue dye which came out positive right away both did. then 2 ept blue dye tests both started which looked to be positive then finished in the 3 min mark as negative about 8 min after testing both times both tests turned a faint but deff blue positive. What can i do about my head hurting all the time?

i keep getting plagued with head aches and sinus pressure. i went to the doctor and she told me that it may be a sinus infection and gave me anti bio tics and flonaze but that doe not help. i also have been neti potting in case it may be allergies but my head still hurts and i feel sinus pressure, pain and like the left side of my sinus is blocked. i dont know if it is the weather cause it has been cold for half the year, i have tried taking pain relief to make the pain stop but it does not help. i taken aleve, ib pro fen, Excedrin extra strength, acetaminophen, aspirin, and even the migraine pills they sell at Walgreen's. but they barely help. i tried taking the store brand sinus pain relief but all it was was acetaminophen and a decongestant. i really dont know why this keeps happening or what i can take to stop the pain.

4 days late with my period. one faint positive hpt, two negative. having lots of symptoms. ?

I took one hpt two days ago and it was a faint positive. the next morning i took another hpt (same brand: Walgreen's Early Result Preg. Test) and it was negative. then went to doctor's office today and they did a urine test that was also negative. I definitely had unprotected sex multiple times during 5-6 fertile days this past April. I am now 4 days late on my period. I am bloated, tired, having dizzy spells, heavy breasts, and many other symptoms like indigestion etc. Also tonight I noticed while getting into the shower that the veins going from my pelvic region to the middle of my abdomen are VERY visible. dont know if that is a pregnancy symptom or not but it was kind of unsettling how visible they were. If I were pregnant i would only be like 2-2.5 weeks along. Am I taking the tests too early? Did I have a chemical miscarriage? Whats the besst tanning spray that wont leave you super duper tan like snookie xD but will leave you tan but not too tan & im NOT looking for anything expensive like something from Walmart Kmart Walgreen etc.

Does anyone know why Tylenol Extra Strength Immodium A-D caplets are not being sold in drugstores lately?

I've been to Walgreen's, CVS, Costco, etc. and they are all out. Are they being recalled, discontinued, and will they come back or not? I've had to but the generic Immodium A-D caplets from Walgreen's because I don't want to get in liquid form. I don't know if they work as well though.
